Santa 🎅🏼... Is that you?

Updated: Feb 14, 2020

So, as the shitshow continues, blessings happen in the oddest of places and this one takes place in none other than the Patterson, Ca Walmart. My youngest daughter, Vivi shared an amazing story with me. If you know this child, you know she’s the apple 🍏 ( green cuz she’s a little sweet and sour) and I’m the tree 🌳! She’s hard to fool and she has Sarcasm rolling off her tongue like the saliva of my fat bulldog. Lol. Anyhow, back to my story. She tells me, “mom, I legit met Santa. Like really, truly... THE REAL DEAL!“ Eyes 👀 HUGE and she’s still reeling in disbelief. I’ll tell you in her words:

“so, yeah. we were in Walmart. Me, nana and papa cuz we were killing time before we had to pick Up my sissy’s and nana needed some stuff. So anyway, we were in the aisle and this man who looked JUST LIKE SANTA... beard and all mom... was there shopping with his wife. He walked up to me and said to nana: ‘I bet you this is a super special little girl!’

Then nana looked at me and said, ‘Yes sir, she sure is. Go ahead Vivi. Tell him your story.’

So I looked up at him and I said, ‘I’m special because I beat kidney cancer!’

He looked at me and smiled and said, ‘I knew that. I know everything! Did you know I had stage 4 prostate cancer too?’ Mom, he was in Normal clothes. No Santa suit. Maybe cuz it’s summer huh mom?!

(At this point in her story I’m in awe. Because she’s realized that no matter who you are, Cancer sucks ass and it really doesn’t discriminate against anyone... even Santa!)

He then told me ‘I stay busy traveling and checking in on stores, making deals and sending gifts to children all over the world!’

Mom, then he whispered he would send me a gift, but I have to be a good girl and then he gave nana a piece of paper and she put it in her pocket. Then she couldn’t find it, but I reminded her I saw her put it in her purse. Then she found it. It had a phone number on it. MOM... YOU WONT BELIEVE THIS.... YOU READY??? I reply, ‘yes baby. I'm ready. Im listening’

IT WAS THE SAME NUMBER OF SANTA WHO FACETIMED ME WHILE I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR MY BIG SURGERY FOR KIDNEY CANCER!!! HE REALLY IS REAL! HE KNEW EVERYTHING!!! HE EVEN KNEW I HAD SISTERS AND THAT WE ARE BUSY KIDS!!! I STILL CANT BELIEVE IT MOMMY!“

(I’m teary eyed typing this)

At this point its time to drop her off at school and her face is lit like a damn Christmas tree 🎄 in September.

Maybe she is marked by God/Universe/Sun/Moon/Stars... hell I call her my Fifth Element because she is a force to be reckoned with in this life. She is my fifth precious gift from the heavens and those who see her see how very much she is loved by all who have the opportunity to meet her, and just what a ray of sunshine she is even on the darkest days! To the man who FaceTimed her ( know who you are) and to the man who made it a point to reach out to her and for making her entire life and world make sense yesterday, especially because it’s the month of Childhood Cancer Awareness... Thank You so much and God Bless Santa 🎅🏼 always ❤️ Thank you for making her be reassured that her, and children like her deserve MORE than 4% of funding for research and cures!! Excuse me now... I have to go wipe my eyes and blow my nose cuz I’m a big ass baby! Ps. Maybe Santa 🎅🏼 really is real. ❤️

I just saw a Unicorn! 🦄

My youngest daughter, Vivi is so funny! I’m sitting in my car after listening to a podcast of a lady I admire and just enjoying the cool...
